1. Service
Booknaria Studio is a web platform for manuscript preparation, audiobook creation and file downloads. Booknaria Library may display author or book listings at the author's request and link to external listening services. Booknaria is not a publishing house and does not guarantee external distribution.
2. Accounts and acceptance
Creating an account requires explicit acceptance of these Terms and confirmation that the user is at least 18 years old. Users must provide a usable email address and protect their credentials, subject to applicable laws. Third-party provider terms may impose additional requirements.
3. Pricing and third-party services
Booknaria does not currently charge a Studio subscription or per-generation commission. Users bring their own Google Gemini API keys where required. Google may charge for API usage directly according to the user's account, quotas and billing settings. Users must review these before initiating generation. Affiliate links are disclosed where used.
4. Authors' rights
Users confirm that they have the rights and permissions needed to upload, process and convert their manuscripts, translations, covers, voices and other materials. Authors retain their rights. They grant WEBMAY a limited non-exclusive technical licence necessary to operate their private Studio workspace. When submitting a Library listing they additionally permit display of the public details they select while that listing remains published.
5. Private manuscripts and Library publication
Private manuscripts and full chapters are not published automatically. Library publication requires an explicit submission and may be reviewed before publication. WEBMAY may decline or remove unlawful or terms-violating listings in line with applicable law. Reports of suspected unlawful listings: support@webmay.fr, stating the URL and reasons.
6. Gemini audio generation
A request for Gemini narration sends the needed manuscript excerpts and voice instructions to Google. The provider's conditions govern its fees and data handling. Pronunciation, quality and timing may vary; generated audio is not guaranteed to qualify for copyright protection or third-party distribution. Unauthorised imitation of another person's identifiable voice is prohibited.
7. Prohibited uses
Identity fraud, unlawful content, infringement of intellectual property or privacy, unauthorised personal-data collection, circumvention of service limits, and attempts to disrupt or compromise the website are prohibited.
8. Account closure and erasure requests
Users may request account closure or erasure at support@webmay.fr. Reasonable identity verification may be required, and some records may be retained where the law permits or requires. Users should download their manuscripts and audio before requesting account closure.
9. Availability and liability
WEBMAY strives to make the service available, but maintenance, technical incidents, hosting limitations and third-party outages may affect it. Nothing in these Terms excludes mandatory consumer rights or non-excludable obligations. Support: support@webmay.fr.
10. Privacy
See the Privacy Policy. Accepting these Terms does not amount to separate consent to optional marketing emails or non-essential cookies.
11. Changes and governing law
Material changes will be notified and may require renewed acceptance. French law applies without overriding mandatory protections applicable to consumers in other countries. Competent courts are determined under applicable law.
